Responsibilities

HazTek is seeking a qualified Safety Management Professional to serve as the Site Safety Lead in Wilmington, DE. This position supports large-scale construction activities and partners with project leadership to strengthen and expand the site’s safety culture.

  • Lead and administer site-wide safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards

  • Coach, mentor, and develop safety team members while guiding contractor leadership on hazard recognition and best practices

  • Oversee incident investigations, corrective actions, and reporting of safety metrics/KPIs

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and coordinate safety activities across multiple projects

  • Represent safety in project planning, high-risk work reviews, and contractor onboarding

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive safety management experience in construction or industrial environments

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience overseeing high-risk work

  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring safety teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, or related field preferred; CSP or CHST certification strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
