A leading semiconductor manufacturing organization is seeking a Construction Safety Engineer to support a major fabrication (FAB) construction project in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with federal (OSHA), state, and local regulations.
The Construction Safety Engineer will work closely with project teams and subcontractors to identify hazards, conduct site evaluations, investigate incidents, and drive continuous safety improvement across construction operations.
Assist in developing, communicating, and enforcing corporate safety policies and procedures.
Provide technical safety guidance to field teams and subcontractors to ensure regulatory compliance.
Participate in subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.
Review subcontractor Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) prior to mobilization.
Conduct routine site inspections and identify safety deficiencies; recommend corrective actions.
Perform regular audits to proactively identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
Support incident investigations using root cause analysis and help implement preventive measures.
Review subcontractor safety training documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Attend and review subcontractor Toolbox Talks for proper documentation and effectiveness.
Collaborate with project teams to promote a strong culture of safety.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
Degree in Construction, Safety, or Engineering preferred.
Experience:
1–3 years of experience in construction health and safety.
Working knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
Understanding of construction safety practices and technologies.
