Construction Safety Professional – Rahway, NJ

HazTek is seeking a Construction Safety Professional to support construction projects at a pharmaceutical facility in Rahway, NJ. This field-focused role will provide daily safety oversight, conduct audits, review work permits, and collaborate with project teams to maintain safe working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site safety audits and inspections, identify hazards, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Review work permits and monitor compliance with site safety procedures.
• Provide safety oversight for fall protection, scaffolding, hot work, and lockout/tagout activities.
• Participate in Job Hazard Analyses or equivalent assessments to identify risks and appropriate controls.
• Participate in weekly toolbox talks conducted by the project general contractor.
• Communicate safety expectations and concerns to contractors and project leadership.

• Construction safety experience, preferably within pharmaceutical facilities
• OSHA 510 required
• OSHA 30 and First Aid certification required
• Experience conducting safety audits and reviewing work permits
• Knowledge of fall protection, scaffolding safety, hot work, and lockout/tagout
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with contractors
• Prior experience supporting the client’s projects and HAZWOPER training are preferred
