HazTek is hiring an experienced Safety Manager in Ridgefield, NJ to support a construction project at a former hazardous materials (hazmat) site. This role requires a strong background in site safety, OSHA compliance, and experience working in high-risk environments including excavation and hazardous conditions.

  • Oversee all aspects of a construction project, ensuring OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and site orientations
  • Perform daily safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor excavation activities and enforce safe work practices
  • Support LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and fall protection compliance
  • Ensure proper PPE usage across all personnel on site
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30
  • HAZWOPER 40 Certification required
  • Experience working on hazmat or environmentally sensitive sites
  • Strong knowledge of excavation safety standards
  • Familiarity with LOTO and fall protection practices
  • Air monitoring experience (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to recognize hazards and enforce corrective actions in real time
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

Pay Range

$100,000-115,000

Travel | Relocation
