Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist in West Point, PA supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and helps enhance a culture of safety. Oversee and support demolition and environmental remediation activities at a high-profile operational facility while ensuring compliance with OSHA, site-specific, and client safety requirements.

  • Support demolition, abatement, and remediation activities onsite
  • Conduct daily safety audits, inspections, and field observations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site procedures, and safe work practices
  • Assist with air monitoring and gas meter setup, calibration, and readings
  • Monitor high-risk activities and hazardous work environments
  • Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety documentation
  • Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Work closely with contractors, supervision, and project teams to maintain a safe work environment
  • Support additional overtime or extended coverage as project needs require

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting demolition and remediation projects required
  • Asbestos, lead remediation, or hazardous materials experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to utilize and interpret gas monitoring equipment required
  • HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred; active HAZMAT physical required
  • OSHA 30 required
  • Strong communication and field presence required
