While the use of cell phones to talk or text while driving can be a distraction for drivers, there are other tasks that can also take attention away from driving. Some distractions that can be controlled while driving include:

  • Programming a GPS
  • Eating or drinking
  • Applying makeup or shaving
  • Reading an email, a newspaper, a book, or a report
  • Watching a video

All it takes is just one quick distraction to take your mind off of driving... but “just” is all it takes.

This April, Distracted Driving Awareness Month helps bring attention to the importance of eliminating driving distractions in order to make our roadways safer for everyone. Keep yourself and others around you safe and #JustDrive.
