This week, HazTek is featuring several of our employees who have served — or continue to serve — in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Safety Professional Javier Rosa served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines for 8 years. Javier was in a Special Operations Capable unit and participated in Operation Desert Storm / Desert Shield, with 1st Force Reconnaissance Company in Camp Pendleton, California from 1990 – 1992. He then went to 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion in Okinawa, Japan from 1992 – 1993 before returning to 1st Reconnaissance Company in Camp Pendleton from 1993 – 1997. Javier has fond memories of being amongst all his fellow soldiers, going on several deployments, and hitting many ports along the way — Australia was his favorite. In his current role as an Energy Marshal, he must be extremely detail oriented and his background in the military has helped him immensely with that skill.
