This week, HazTek is featuring several of our employees who have served — or continue to serve — in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Safety Professional Tim Holmstedt served as a Petty Officer Second Class in the U.S. Navy for eight years. Tim’s brothers had a lot of influence on his decision to follow them into the Navy. One of his favorite Navy memories includes the award ceremony for Surface Warfare Specialists, where he received a Combat Action Medal and recognition by the Vice Admiral for his role in Operation Praying Mantis and Operation Earnest Will. Another great memory includes his Crossing the Line ceremony — an initiation rite that takes place when a ship crosses the equator. Tim also has amazing memories of rescuing people from a burning ship off the coast of San Diego, California. His time in the military taught him leadership skills and teamwork. He was put in charge of a team of experienced damage control personnel and became an effective leader by learning, observing, and listening — all things which have helped immensely in his safety career.

We are privileged to work with all of our veterans and we appreciate the significant contributions that they bring to our company. Thank you for your service, Tim.
