This year, the Industrial Truck Association sponsors National Forklift Safety Day on June 8, 2021. Now in its eighth year, National Forklift Safety Day continues to serve as an opportunity for forklift manufacturers and the industry to highlight the safe use of forklifts, the value of operator training, and the need for daily equipment checks.
Powered industrial trucks — commonly called forklifts or lift trucks — are used in many industries, primarily to move materials. There are many types of powered industrial trucks and each type presents different operating hazards.
It is a violation of Federal law for anyone UNDER 18 years of age to operate a forklift or for anyone OVER 18 years of age to operate a forklift if they are not properly trained and certified to do so.
