HazTek Safety Professional Liz McEachin began her career in the construction field in 1997 when she took a job as the Executive Assistant to the President of a construction company. About a year later, Liz transferred to the construction department where she continued to work for the next 12 years. She started as a Safety Coordinator and later became the only female Project Manager in the department. Liz commented, “When I started as a female Safety Coordinator, it was very challenging. Back then, construction work was dominated by men and I felt like a woman in a man’s world. You had to have thick skin. I always thanked my mother who was a strong woman, as well, and always taught me that there was nothing I couldn’t do if I put my mind and heart into it.” One famous quote that Liz lives by is, “Success in no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and, most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”

Although Liz only joined HazTek last year, she says that it has been a great experience, particularly working with her supervisor Susan Stager. Thank you, Liz, for all of the hard work and professionalism that you bring to the HazTek family!
