HazTekSafety Professional Toni Pittmano had been working in residential construction for many years when she realized that there had never been any real discussions about safety or working safely during her time in the industry. She had never seen any type of fall protection on her roofing jobs. After witnessing a coworker fall 10 or 12 feet from a roof and sustain serious injuries, Toni was so traumatized that she left the construction industry and began working in retail. Toni had been working in the industry for a few months when she got together with a friend who was working in construction safety. Listening to her friend talk about his job piqued her interest in safety and made her realize that if there had been safety measures in place at her last job, her colleague may not have been injured. Toni enrolled in safety training classes and researched everything that she could find on safety. She started working as a Safety Watcher for a large energy company based in New Jersey and continued to take safety classes while connecting with other safety professionals. After about a year, Toni left her job for a new job in the safety industry and spent the next 4 years gaining more safety experience in industrial construction. She joined the HazTek team in 2021 and has been applying her experience and knowledge even further.
Thank you for all that you bring to the HazTek family, Toni!
