HazTek Safety Professional Tanisha Norwood joined HazTek in 2015 and she will be celebrating 23 years of working as a Safety Professional, this November. While most of Tanisha’s family members are either in law enforcement or the military, there were not many from her family who went the construction route.

Throughout her career, Tanisha has had the pleasure of working with several Fortune 500 companies and she has worked all over the country, in practically all arenas of safety. She has also worked on superfund sites that were the result of anything from nuclear contamination to natural disasters. Tanisha says, “I never would have imagined that I would be standing on top of 100-meter towers all over the country (including some areas on top of mountains); a part of building skyscrapers; performing audits on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico; or rebuilding airports and runways all over the country. Some of my most memorable projects include wind farms. There’s an irreplaceable feeling when you start from a blank canvas and have a part in creating something that you will be able to see years on down the line.” Tanisha goes on to say, “I can’t imagine any other field being able to bring that overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I really love what I do.”

Tanisha has a tremendous passion for meeting, connecting, and collaborating with her work family and keeping everyone safe. Tanisha says, “Safety is really a relationship-building business. Most people need to know on a personal level that they matter and that you truly care about their well-being. I strongly believe that there is always something to be learned from everyone you meet.”

Thank you to Tanisha for all of the experience and dedication that she brings to our organization.
