In honor of Women in Construction Week, HazTek is featuring several of our safety professionals who work out in the field.
HazTek Safety Professional Misty Hamilton began her career in safety while working with a chemical fertilizer company in Ohio. She expects to earn her Master’s degree in Occupational Safety & Environmental Health in May 2021.
Misty’s question and advice for all women in the construction industry: “Are you willing to stop work due to uncertainty? To stop work because something is wrong is reactive. To stop work because of uncertainty is proactive. Uncertainty should create the ability to speak up immediately! Use your intuition and instinct to stop work the second you sense uncertainty!”
Thank you to Misty for her dedication to safety and the enthusiasm that she brings to our organization.
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) created Women in Construction (WIC) Week to highlight women as a viable component of the construction industry and as an occasion for the thousands of NAWIC members across the country to help raise awareness of the growing role of women in the construction industry and the opportunities available to them.
