HazTek Safety Professional Tiffany Carter had worked as a laborer for 16 years before she joined the HazTek team. As a laborer, her work varied anywhere from using a jumping jack and digging ditches to breaking up concrete and removing asbestos and lead. Tiffany was also tasked with general cleanup/housekeeping, an experience that inspired her to launch her own cleaning business when she discovered that she had a talent for it.
Tiffany has two children and describes her daughter as her right-hand “wo-man” and her son as her “rock.” She is both a teacher and a mentor and she’s proud to say that she was the first female instructor for the Laborers’ District Council Education and Apprenticeship Fund in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tiffany also became the first female Secretary of Treasury for Laborers Union Local 135.
HazTek has given Tiffany the opportunity to work as a Safety Professional while she continues to learn and earn certifications through the company’s professional development program.
Thank you to Tiffany for all of the hard work and skills that she brings to our organization.
In honor of Women in Construction Week, HazTek is featuring several of our safety professionals who work out in the field.
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) created Women in Construction (WIC) Week to highlight women as a viable component of the construction industry and as an occasion for the thousands of NAWIC members across the country to help raise awareness of the growing role of women in the construction industry and the opportunities available to them.
