Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist in Bothell, WA supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety. 

  • Requirements/Priorities

    • Hazardous Waste Management - This role requires RCRA/DOT Training.
      • Assist with the movement of waste to the waste room and also signing and managing Hazardous waste manifests.
      • Able to understand, review and make updates to the Hazardous Waste Program.
      • Conduct Weekly Waste inspection inclusive of the main waste room and satellite accumulation areas (SAA's).
      • Able to work with Veolia the waste hauler to coordinate waste pick-ups and all hazardous and biohazardous waste management
      • Ensuring waste is properly labeled and profiled.
      • Waste tracking/waste codes
      • There are six (6) biohazardous waste pick-ups per week. Ensure waste is handled correctly in 40lb boxes and that there are enough boxes to cover each daily pick-up.
      • 2-5 years of waste handling experience.
    • Contractor Safety Management
      • Support contractor safety program on-site
      • Training/Onboarding etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of safety experience required
  • Hazwoper 40 hour in certification required
  • RCRA/DOT waste training is required for this role
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • Seasoned and confident EHS professional
  • Knowledge of Washington State regulations and the ability to locate and follow specific regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in Industrial Hygiene - Specifically Noise Monitoring and conducting noise dosimetry IH assessments.
  • Knowledgeable in Environmental Compliance - specifically Storm Water Discharge (Stormwater pollution prevention plan, SWPPP), Industrial Wastewater, and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC).
  • Construction and General Industry experience in Lockout Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, work permits, JHA's and Incident investigation

Pay Range

75,000-90,000
