Responsibilities

The Senior Industrial Hygienist in Richland, WA supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

    • Provides technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, Federal, State, and/or Company health and safety regulations.

    • Conducts compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety and health standards of the Company and all applicable codes are followed.

    • Recommends facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives.

    • Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence and program compliance documents.

    • Establishes and maintains permits as required.

    • Meets applicable regulatory codes and standards where required. Develops and implements IH programs including IH processes, procedures and/or specifications.

    • Develops IH training programs and conducts IH training meetings as necessary.

    • Performs statistical analysis of IH data.

    • Trains and assists subordinate industrial hygienists in sampling and assessment methodologies.

    • Conducts and assists projects with sampling, monitoring, data interpretation and occupational health surveys to ensure compliance with established programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Bachelor's of Science or Master of Science in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related science or engineering field and a minimum of 9 years related experience. In lieu of degree, 15 years experience in a nuclear, heavy construction, chemical processing or petroleum refining environment.
  • Experience in a nuclear, heavy construction, chemical processing or petroleum refining environment is preferred.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship. ABIH Certification (CIH) Required.

 

Pay Range

100,000-125,000
